Our SD41 A Representative Keith Downey has been very busy indeed in the first 30 days of the 2011 session.  While spending his first term in the minority as a freshmen, he was able to hit the ground running with a slurry of government reform and budget balancing bills.  Probably great ideas that could not see the light of day under the Democratic leadership of the previous 4 years.  Keith has been authoring so much key legislation it is hard to keep up, but his YouTube site provides great videos of his legisltive activities.  He also recently posted a legislative video update.

Keith has also been getting his share of media attention considering he is a leader in taking on the government employee and teacher's unions as part of his reform packages.  He has written an editorial in the Star Tribune and plenty of people had feedback on it.  When you take on issues this big that are supported by lobbying organizations entrenched in politics for years it is not an easy road.
